  • Europe

Just one of many fond memories of Europe.

Just got back from 18 wonderful days in Europe where I got to meet my new stepson, a Captain in the U.S. Army whom I just got to meet for 24 hours before he re-deployed to Iraq. His new assignment will keep him in Iraq for 15 months. Also I met and we stayed a while with his wife my new daughter-in-law Lindsey, and my granddaughter Eva Marie.

Lindsey and Hans are expecting a baby boy sometime this coming March. Standby for updates.

I wish I had more time to devote to Xanga, especially since I miss all of my dear friends such as Simoncat and Ron631 and Creed, Lady Em et al. Europe has certainly opened my eyes to new things and as soon as I get some more time I will write about them. We were in Germany mostly, but visited Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France. Till then. know I am here, just ask and you shall receive.

By the way, we did visit Stephie Uncle and his bees are doing fine!

  • Where are the honey bees?

I don't know. I have been doing landscaping on the side and am outdoors very much. I have not seen a honey bee yet this year. This is NOT good. Has anyone seen a honey bee yet this year? There is plenty of clover-but no bees.

I am not sure about that, sounds like someone blaming global warming for yet another phenomena. My buddy and I stopped at an exterminator supply store in our area called Steve's Bug Off which touts an 'Insectarium' and were told that a new insecticide being used on crops is to blame. Kinda honest of them. Don't know about that one either. My wifes uncle in Germany (yes folks, I got married March 30, more later) and his wife said that he was up in his beehives checking on them because many of his hives have completely perished.

Anyone have any thoughts or information on what's causing the bees to die? I would really appreciate any input that you may have.
